Pilates is a fantastic exercise class for preventing injury and for rehabilitation, improving posture and in the treatment and management of back pain. The last few years have seen great advances in the research supporting abdominal stabilisation/core stability exercises for management of back pain.
Clinical Pilates differs from standard Pilates only in that the principles have been adapted to improve the safety and effectiveness of the exercises and highlight the key elements that improve back pain. The aim of Clinical Pilates is to assess the movement and control of the whole spine and pelvic region, then use specific exercises to help correct the problem areas. We focus on the quality and precision on the movement rather than repetitions and quantity.
We have returned to face to face classes at the Ashtorre Rock community centre by the Waterfront in Saltash. A beautiful setting to teach, a spacious modern room over looking the river Tamar, with plenty of free parking.

Classes of up to 12 persons, £9.50 /session, 10 week terms.

Zoom has provided some great memories and fun stories since COVID forced us to use the technology and is something we will continue to incorporate in the future.
If you would like to give it a go, come and join us online for £5.50 /session. Classes are booked in blocks of 10 (you can book for one trial session for £5.00 before committing further). We record all the classes so that if there any technical hiccups or you can not make the session then you will receive a recording of the class.
Once you have signed up we will email you a secure link to the classes each week, usually 30-60 mins prior to the class starting. (Wednesday’s at 12pm/midday) You don’t need much space, just a mat or a towel on the floor, maybe a cushion for comfort. We occasionally use resistance bands but we always give alternatives for those that don’t have them.
We do require new clients to fill out a health questionnaire….and then we are good to go! Download this here and email back with details of the class you would like to attend.
