The Physiotherapy Clinic – Your questions answered

What do we offer at The Physiotherapy Clinic?

More than just Physio. Based in Saltash for over 30yrs, we now have a clinic in Liskeard, and also offer Sports Therapy, massage, acupuncture, Pilates, shockwave, prenatal massage, with our expanding team.

Why should I see a Private Physio when its free on the NHS?

We have the luxury of time to spend listening and finding out what really is bothering you. Time to treat you in as many or few sessions as required. Time to see you when its convenient for you. We are open 8am to 8pm most days.

We use a holistic approach using hands-on manual therapy skills alongside exercise and advice.

We have a team of therapists and can usually offer appointments within 48 hours. We do see a lot of patients whilst they are on the waiting list for the NHS to get the ball rolling.

All our Physios are at least 4 years qualified so you will be getting the best treatment. We have Physios that specialise in shoulder injuries, sports injuries (from football to horse riding), weight-management, and more.

How many sessions would I need?

This depends on lots of factors…what the problem is, how long you have had it for and also your situation – we understand there is a financial consideration to coming to see us – if you can only afford one session we will do our utmost in one session.

Do you just treat sports injuries?

No, definitely not…. we do have therapists that specialise in sports but we also treat all muscle/joint injuries. It is not all about pain….you may need to us because of stiffness or inability to do your normal activities. You may need help with managing your weight and obtaining a healthy balanced lifestyle. You may also be at risk of falls or struggling with your balance. So no not just sports!

April Update

Dear All,

I hope you have all been keeping well and that you have ‘survived’ lockdown in good health.

We may all be in the same storm but we are all in different boats”

I think sums this last year up nicely, at times it seemed like some were clinging onto some drift wood whilst others were in luxury yachts. Its been difficult and different for us all, some worse than others but I am sure there isn’t anybody that hasn’t been affected by this pandemic.

So we have survived as a business, we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel and looking to start getting back on the road to normality. We are grateful that we have been open and able to work through the lockdown with strict protocols, full PPE and have all been testing twice weekly.

NEW MASSAGE THERAPIST and SPORTS THERAPIST

We are looking forward to Anna joining our team in April – Anna is a massage and sports therapist with many skills to add to our team offering a range of treatments from pre-natal massage to sports massage. Read more here (https://caradonphysio.co.uk/treatments/)

I have attached her profile at the end if you want to have a read. Or click here to read more https://caradonphysio.co.uk/about-us/

PILATES

For now Pilates classes will remain on Zoom, we will await further guidance on when we can return to face to face classes safely and efficiently.

Zoom has provided some great memories and fun stories over the past year and is something we will try and incorporate in the future for those who are unable to attend our classes ‘live’. If you would like to give it a go, come and join us online for £4.50 per class on a Monday 10am or 6:30pm, Wednesday 12noon, or Thursday at 10am. Contact the clinic for more details.

LISKEARD

The Friday clinic in Liskeard at The Wellbeing Centre as been a huge success and we are looking at taking on more days…keep an eye on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/saltashphysio or our website https://caradonphysio.co.uk for updates.

In the mean time, do get in contact if there is anything we can help with on 01752 202202 or help us spread the word by liking and sharing our facebook page.

Take care,

Pilates Classes Starting in September 2020

The long awaited Pilates Update – Saltash Physio Commence classes at Ashtorre Rock

We are glad to let you know that we will return to teaching small groups of Pilates on 7th September 2020 at the Ashtorre Rock.

I know it has been a longtime coming but we need to ensure that we can maintain the required guidelines set by the government and our professional body. There will be a few noticeable changes:

Each person will have a designated area for exercise to ensure we maintain social distancing
There will be a maximum of 7 people per class
You will need to bring your own mat and cushion/towel
Please only bring essential items to the class – no excess bags etc
Hand sanitiser will be available
You will be required to wear a mask up until the class starts and then again once we have finished.
Windows will be left open so a jumper/cardigan may be required!
The room will be cleaned and ventilated between each class
There will be a 15 min gap between classes to allow one group to leave before the others arrive
No waiting in the building. Please wait outside/in your car until your class time (Or max 5 mins before) –please leave promptly after the class to minimise chance of meeting the next group. Please maintain the 2m social distancing outside of the Pilates studio.

Due to the financial implications of reduced class sizes we unfortunately need to increase the cost of the classes by 50p. This will obviously not cover the reduction in income but does make the classes economically viable for us to continue. I hope this is not seen as unreasonable. A 10 week term is now £80.

We will start by teaching the following 8 classes:

Monday    9:15am and 10:30am
Monday    6:00pm and 7:15pm
Tuesday   9:15am and 10:30am
Thursday  9:15am and 10:30am

We are also running remote Pilates session on a Wednesday at 12:00 via Zoom for those that can’t make any of the class times or who do not want to attend groups. 1 hour class in the comfort of your own home.

10 week course (10 classes) £30. Recordings of the class will also be available if you

Contact us if you have any questions about these classes or our COVID protocols

Please contact the clinic on 01752 202202 or email to let us know what class times you would like to join. If we have the capacity we will put more classes on.

Unfortunately due to the size of the room at Saltash Physio Clinic we can not resume the classes there at present.

Kind regards,

Saltash Physiotherapy Clinic

Pilates is a fantastic way to increase your strength and flexibility, preventing injury and for rehabilitation, improving posture and in the treatment and management of back pain.

The aim of Clinical Pilates is to assess the movement and control of the whole spine and pelvic region, then use specific exercises to help correct the problem areas. We focus on the quality and precision on the movement rather than repetitions and quantity. See our Website for more details

Our classes are kept small with 3/4 people so that the physio can keep a close eye on you making sure that you are only doing things properly and not cheating!!

Classes are £12 each when block booked for the term (normally 6 weeks) please contact the clinic  if you are interested in booking a space.

Places are limited so get in quick, however if there is enough demand other classes may be set up.
